Our Programs
B.E.S.T. (Bridges Emergency Support Team)
Upon notification of a sudden, traumatic, or accidental death on Kauaʻi,
the Bridges Emergency Support Team (B.E.S.T.) is dispatched through the coordinated efforts of the Kauaʻi Police Department, Kauaʻi Fire Department, KVMH, Mahelona and Wilcox Hospital departments.
Volunteers are trained to meet the special needs of families in crisis by assisting with the practical and logistical needs while providing essential emotional support. Our specially trained volunteers are on-call 24 hours a day/7 days a week and can be reached by calling (808) 651-6637.
Good Grief Club
Good Grief Club is a school-based peer support group that meets the needs of grieving children.
The group is provided in a safe and familiar environment and is designed for grades K through 5th.
Through the use of art, children learn about grief and ways to cope.
KLAS (Kauai Leaders Against Suicide)
To meet the needs of our teens at risk, we started the first ever teen education and peer support leadership group. KLAS is a group of dedicated youth who are committed to training their peers to recognize those at risk for suicide and where to turn for help. They build on their strength and resilience.
